Doordat er nog heel wat water in de stenen (en vooral in het vuurvast beton) zit, moet je rustig stoken in het begin. Ik ben begonnen met 700 gram fijn hout. Dat gaf toch al redelijk grote vlammen vond ik. Elke ochtend en avond stook ik nu +/- 1 kg ('s avonds telkens een klein beetje meer). Op deze manier probeer ik de kachel warm te houden zodat ie goed kan drogen. Komend weekend ga ik hem bepleisteren met kalk...
